BioShock

I just finished beating BioShock and can clearly see why IGN gave it a 9.7 rating – the highest rating they have ever given a game for the Xbox 360. This is without-a-doubt the best first-person shooter I have ever played. It is extremely addicting and I haven’t been this excited about playing a game since Gears of War.

The visual design and voice cast throughout the entire game is spectacular. The story is a sci-fi mystery with a retro, yet at the same time futuristic feel, and is very well-written. It’s a great example of just how far video games have come over the past 25 years.

I was somewhat disappointed with the last goal and also the ending. At one point during the very beginning of the game, it took me over 20 minutes to get past a Big Daddy, but it took me less than 5 minutes to kill the final boss. Even though I had a complete arsenal of weapons at the end of the game, it should have been significantly harder to beat the game. After building up a great story throughout the game, the conclusion lasted a mere 3 minutes. I chose to save all of the Little Sisters and saw the good ending. I plan to go back and play the game again on hard and will harvest the Little Sisters this time so I can see the evil ending and get the remaining achievement points.

Yes, I agree the game is awesome. There is definitely a cult potential in this game. A movie will be made too, I guess.
