The Author

Jeff Miller resides in Annapolis, Maryland and is currently a software developer at Schematic in the Interface Engineering Group. There he specializes in client-side web development using XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. He also has a company, Styromedia, where he works on side projects.

When he’s not busy coding, you might catch him at the park with his wife and two airedale terriers, riding his mountain bike, cooking on his grill, listening to music, watching an ice hockey or lacrosse game, enjoying a microbrew, or taking photographs with his Digital Rebel XT or Sony Cyber-shot digital cameras.

The Site

Those who are not web savvy may be wondering why this site is named xhtmled. XHTML is the current version of HTML and is used to create web pages. Being a web developer, it seemed like a great name for a website.

The site was first launched in April 2004 and is currently in its third incarnation - the previous version had a retro theme and has been archived at retro.xhtmled.com.

It conforms to the W3C’s recommendations of separating style from content and uses tableless XHTML Strict for markup and CSS for presentation. It runs on Ruby on Rails and all of the content is managed using a hacked version of SimpleLog.
